Favino, Saldaña, Geena Davis among presenters at Cannes closing ceremony

The 79th Cannes Film Festival is set to conclude with its closing ceremony tonight at 8:15 PM, hosted once again by Eye Haïdara. The jury, presided over by South Korean director, screenwriter, and producer Park Chan-wook, will announce the winners from the 22 films that competed in the main section.

Several prestigious awards will be presented, including the Palme d'Or, the Grand Prix, the Jury Prize, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, and Best Actor. These awards will be handed out by a lineup of notable figures, including Geena Davis, Xavier Dolan, Pierfrancesco Favino, Gael García Bernal, Nadine Labaki, and Zoe Saldaña. Tilda Swinton will present the Palme d'Or for the main competition, while Isabelle Huppert will present an honorary Palme d'Or to Barbra Streisand, who cannot attend the ceremony but will be honored for her career.

The films competing for the Palme d'Or represent a diverse range of international cinema. The list includes works by acclaimed directors such as Pedro Almodóvar ('Amarga Navidad'), Asghar Farhadi ('Histoires Parallèles'), and Ryusuke Hamaguchi ('Soudain'), alongside entries from emerging talents and established filmmakers from various countries.

Additionally, the Short Film Palme d'Or will be awarded by the jury president Carla Simón and her fellow jury members. The Caméra d'Or, recognizing a first feature film, will be presented by Monia Chokri and her jury. The festival has showcased a total of 22 films in its main competition, highlighting a broad spectrum of cinematic achievements from around the globe.
