Favrskov Municipality activates emergency plan after terror attempt case

Favrskov Municipality has activated its emergency preparedness plan and is holding information meetings after authorities uncovered a suspected terror plot targeting Hadsten School in eastern Jutland. The municipality emphasized that police have confirmed there is no ongoing danger and that the school can continue to operate normally.

According to the municipality, the arrested individuals do not reside in Favrskov, and the motive behind targeting Hadsten School remains unknown. The plot came to light on Monday when two 16-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy were charged with attempting terror. They allegedly used online platforms to plan attacks aimed at injuring or killing multiple people at the school.

Police have assured Favrskov Municipality that there is no danger on the loose and emphasize that Hadsten School can remain open and function as usual.

Thomas Smidt, director of Children and Culture for Favrskov Municipality, described the information as "overwhelming." "Therefore, our administration will be present at the school from tomorrow morning, and we are organizing information meetings for both staff and the school board tomorrow, Tuesday. The police will also participate in these meetings," Smidt stated in a press release. The arrested youths are not local to the municipality.
