FBI Thwarts Attack Plot at White House Event Celebrating Trump's Birthday

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) successfully thwarted a planned attack targeting a martial arts event held near the White House last Sunday. The event coincided with President Trump's 80th birthday celebration and marked the 250th anniversary of the United States.

FBI Director Kash Patel announced on X that the agency intercepted encrypted messages from 23 individuals who were allegedly discussing attack plans on the social media platform Signal. According to court documents cited by the Associated Press, the individuals spoke about using explosive drones and shooting people as they fled.

"Thanks to the FBI's swift intervention," Patel stated, "individuals from multiple states in the USA have been arrested." It remains unclear how close the plotters were to executing their plan. The FBI's timely action prevented a potentially violent incident during a significant public event.
