FC Bayern Signs Moroccan World Cup Star Ismael Saibari

FC Bayern Munich has secured the signing of Moroccan World Cup standout Ismael Saibari, bolstering their squad with the offensive midfielder on a contract running until June 30, 2031. The German football giants reportedly paid an estimated transfer fee of around 55 million euros to acquire Saibari from PSV Eindhoven, where his previous contract extended to 2029.

Saibari, 25, garnered significant international attention during the World Cup for his crucial goals, including the opening strike against Brazil and the match-winner against Scotland. He also played a key role in Morocco's advancement to the knockout stages, converting the decisive penalty against the Netherlands. Bayern's intensified pursuit of the player has now culminated in a successful deal.

"We are very pleased to have won one of the most exciting offensive players of this World Cup for FC Bayern in Ismael Saibari," stated Sportvorstand Max Eberl. Saibari echoed the sentiment, saying, "As a child, you dream of signing a contract with a club like FC Bayern – everyone knows that this is one of the biggest clubs in the world." He added that Bayern's style of play suits him and that he is eager to contribute.

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany was instrumental in Saibari's decision, with the midfielder highlighting the coach's significant role. Kompany's influence provides Bayern with another versatile option in midfield, allowing for better management of player workloads within the star-studded team. Sport Director Christoph Freund praised Saibari's versatility, intensity, and attacking prowess, noting his hunger and goal-scoring mentality as valuable assets.

Saibari enjoyed a successful tenure at PSV Eindhoven, contributing significantly to their third consecutive league title and earning the Eredivisie Player of the Year award. He was also part of the Moroccan squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025. He initially joined PSV's second team in 2020 before being promoted to the first team in 2022, where he continued to impress.
