FC Porto advances to basketball league finals after beating Sporting

FC Porto has clinched a spot in the Portuguese basketball league finals for the third season in a row, following their 94-86 victory over Sporting. The decisive fourth game of the semifinal series took place at the Dragão Arena in Porto.

The "dragões," who have not won the championship since the 2015-16 season, secured their final berth by winning the semifinals 3-1. They led Sporting 57-47 at halftime in Sunday's match. Porto had initially taken the first game 70-81, then lost the second 88-73 in Lisbon, before regaining home-court advantage with an 86-76 win and ultimately closing out the series.

In the finals, which will be a best-of-five series starting June 7 at the Luz pavilion, FC Porto will once again face Benfica. Benfica advanced by sweeping Oliveirense 3-0 and will be aiming for their fifth consecutive league title.
