FCMB sponsors Ojude Oba Festival 2026, celebrating Ijebu culture and glamour

Ijebu sons and daughters gathered in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, for the 2026 Ojude Oba Festival, a vibrant celebration of cultural reverence and rich artistic heritage, sponsored by First City Monument Bank. The festival unfolded as a spectacle of colors and grandeur, reinforcing the community's enduring bonds.

Despite the passing of their revered monarch, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the attendees demonstrated their continued respect by upholding the festival's traditions. The event highlighted the deep-rooted cultural practices, with the Regberegbe age grades, both senior men and women, leading a disciplined parade. Their enthusiasm mirrored youthful energy as they graced the pavilion with graceful aesthetics, followed by younger groups in a spirited cultural competition.

The festival reached a crescendo with the horse-riding families, whose performance captivated the audience with prancing dance steps and celebratory gunshots. Egbe Bobakeye emerged as the winner in the male category, and Egbe Arobayo Obinrin Precious secured the top spot in the female category. The Balogun Kuku Family was recognized for their prowess in the horse-riding competition.

The event also drew a crowd of celebrities, including Nollywood stars like Eniola Badmus, Adeniyi Johnson, and Mercy Aigbe, alongside cultural figures such as singer Salawa Abeni and content creator Samuel Banks. Farooq Oreagba, known for his charismatic style, made a notable horseback entrance, adding to the festival's glamour.
