FCSB Registers Two New Players Ahead of Conference League Duel

Romanian football club FCSB has finalized the registration of two new players, Dylan Batubinsika and Luca Stancu, just before their crucial Conference League qualifier against Auda of Latvia. Batubinsika, a defender who participated with Congo in the World Cup qualifiers, and Stancu join the squad as FCSB aims to rebound from a disappointing previous season where they missed out on the league title and Superliga playoffs.

The club is setting ambitious goals for the current season, targeting a return to domestic prominence and a deep run in European competitions. FCSB has started their domestic league campaign with a victory, and head coach Marius Baciu expressed satisfaction with the current roster. However, he acknowledged the need for further strategic additions to strengthen specific positions within the team.

"We have some precise targets. We have positions we want to improve, but we must be prudent and careful about what we do in the coming period," Baciu stated. He emphasized that while the existing players are very good, the team requires additional depth, particularly in certain roles, to achieve its objectives. The coach also highlighted the importance of individual talent serving the collective team goals.

Several players who were previously sidelined with injuries, including Mihai Popescu and David Miculescu, are nearing full fitness and could be available for the match against Auda. However, Siyabonga Ngezana is still undergoing recovery and is not expected back until the autumn. The club has also officially registered Aymen Boutoutaou, Eddy Gnahore, and Ronny Labonne, who were signed earlier in the summer, with UEFA.

Batubinsika, 30, joins from Greek club AEL Larissa. He was part of the DR Congo squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers but did not feature in their matches. His career includes spells at clubs like Antwerp, Famalicao, Maccabi Haifa, and AS Saint-Étienne. He has represented France at U16 and U20 levels and has 15 caps and one goal for DR Congo. Luca Stancu, 21, arrives from FC Hermannstadt and has already begun training with his new teammates.
