FCT administration to finish all ongoing projects before 2027 — Wike

Nyesom Wike says every capital project launched under President Bola Tinubu in Abuja will be completed before the administration leaves office. The Federal Capital Territory minister made the pledge during his monthly media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Wike said the FCT Administration had commissioned 107 capital projects under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, including 76 that had already been completed. He said 10 additional projects would be commissioned before the January elections, with the rest scheduled for completion before the end of the presidential tenure.

“Before this tenure expires, every project started under Bola Tinubu would have been completed,” Wike said. He repeated the commitment while outlining the administration’s progress on projects inherited from previous governments.

According to the minister, 23 of 25 projects inherited from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration had been completed, while work continued on the remaining two. The FCT also inherited eight projects from the administrations of former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. Six of those had been completed and two remained ongoing.

Wike challenged critics to compare the infrastructure record under Tinubu with that of previous governments. “In the history of the FCT, no government has done what we have done in Abuja. I challenge anyone to come out,” he said.
