FCU-UCV seeks medicine, food, hygiene items for earthquake victims

The Federation of University Centers of the UCV (FCU-UCV) has established a collection point to gather essential supplies for those affected by recent earthquakes. Ariel Pérez, the student rights secretary for FCU-UCV, announced that the center is actively receiving donations of food, medicine, and hygiene products.

The federation is prioritizing non-perishable food items like canned tuna, sardines, and mortadella, which are easy for displaced individuals to store and access. They are also seeking specific medications, including anti-hypertensives and anti-allergy drugs, alongside hygiene essentials such as masks, adult and child diapers, and wet wipes.

The people who can continue to donate, who can continue to add, do not stop donating. If you cannot come to the UCV, you can write to us on social media, and we will come to you with our volunteer motorcycle team, and if not, bring it to the nearest collection center to your residence.

Pérez urged the public to continue donating, offering a pickup service for those who cannot reach the collection center. "If you cannot come to the UCV, you can write to us on social media, and we will come to you with our volunteer motorcycle team," he stated in an interview with Unión Radio. He also clarified that clothing donations are no longer required, as they have a surplus from earlier in the emergency.

The collection center is located at the Plaza del Rectorado in the FCU-UCV building. The federation has a substantial volunteer base, with 400 to 500 individuals working daily at the collection point, in addition to those assisting with donation deliveries.
