Felipe Ángeles Train Surpasses One Million Passengers in Six Weeks

The Felipe Ángeles Train's branch connecting Lechería to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing one million passengers just six weeks after its launch. This vital rail link, operated by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), plays a crucial role in the mobility of the Mexico City metropolitan area.

The 22.94-kilometer route connects the Buenavista station to AIFA, offering a journey time of approximately 50 minutes. Since its inception, the service has become an integral part of the transportation network for individuals traveling to the airport and for residents in various municipalities within the State of Mexico seeking connections to other public transit systems.

The Lechería-AIFA branch features six intermediate stations: Cueyamil, La Loma, Teyahualco, Prados Sur, Cajiga, and Xaltocan, in addition to the terminal at AIFA. Its strategic connectivity extends to the Metro's Line B, Metrobús Lines 1, 3, and 4, Ecobici, and the Mexibús, enabling seamless transfers across different parts of the metropolitan zone.

Currently, the service operates with 10 trains, each capable of carrying 719 passengers. Trains depart approximately every half hour. During peak hours, coupled trains can be utilized to further increase transport capacity, ensuring efficient movement for the growing number of passengers utilizing this important infrastructure.
