Femi Azeez Seals Record £15 Million Move to Brighton

Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a deal worth up to £15 million to sign Nigeria forward Femi Azeez from Millwall. The transfer, completed in a late deadline-day push, would become the biggest sale in Millwall’s history.

The package includes an initial £12.5 million and another £2.5 million in add-ons, according to BBC Sport. It surpasses the fee Crystal Palace paid for young winger Romain Esse in the summer of 2024.

The move represents a substantial profit for Millwall, who signed the 25-year-old winger from Reading for only £1 million in 2024. Azeez had previously spoken of his ambition to play in the Premier League, while Hull City and Aston Villa had been leading the race for his signature earlier in the summer.

Brighton increased their efforts before the deadline as they sought to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season. Azeez enjoyed an impressive 2025-26 campaign, scoring 11 goals and supplying seven assists in all competitions.

He came close to helping Millwall return to the Premier League, but the club’s run ended against Hull City in the Championship playoff semifinals.
