Fenerbahçe signs Dutch defender Nathan Ake from Manchester City

Fenerbahçe has bolstered its defense by signing Manchester City's Dutch center-back, Nathan Ake. The club has been active in the summer transfer window, having already acquired Vedat Muriqi and Amara Diouf.

Ake, born in The Hague, Netherlands, on February 18, 1995, is the son of an Ivorian father and a Dutch mother. His career began in the Feyenoord academy before he moved to Chelsea's youth system in 2011. He made his Premier League debut for Chelsea in 2012.

Throughout his career, Ake has had several loan spells, including at Reading and Watford, before making a permanent move to Bournemouth in 2017 for a club-record fee of £20 million. In 2020, he transferred to Manchester City on a five-year contract for £41 million.

Ake is recognized for his versatility, ability to read the game, and proficiency in multiple defensive positions, including fullback, center-back, and defensive midfielder. His skills have drawn comparisons to former Dutch international Ruud Gullit.
