Fernando Villavicencio's daughter links Quito Mayor Pabel Muñoz to murder suspect Xavier Jordán

Tamia Villavicencio, the daughter of slain presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio, has publicly linked Quito Mayor Pabel Muñoz to Xavier Jordán, a key figure under investigation in the "Magnicidio FV" case concerning her father's assassination.

Villavicencio shared chat excerpts on July 18, 2026, allegedly from the phone of María Paula Christiansen, the wife of former Interior Minister José Serrano and another suspect in the case. The messages, reportedly from August 14, 2023, just five days after Villavicencio's murder, show a user identified as @8 (believed to be Christiansen) asking Jordán for a favor involving "Pabel."

The chat indicates that user @8 needed "Pabel" to remove an individual named Karla E. from ConQuito, a municipal company. The messages suggest Karla E. had allegedly provided classified security contracts from the ministry to Fernando Villavicencio. Jordán's reply indicates he would arrange for "intelligence" to be gathered the following day.

Tamia Villavicencio presented these chats as evidence of alleged corruption and influence peddling, questioning Muñoz's connection to Jordán and stating that this information is part of the official fiscal investigation. She also mentioned receiving death threats for speaking out about these details, asserting that those involved "do not deserve to be on a ballot ever again."

The Municipality of Quito issued a statement indicating that Mayor Pabel Muñoz would not comment on the publication. The statement emphasized that the mayor would not offer opinions on matters unrelated to his administration or on interpretations spread on social media.
