Fête de la Musique 2026 a Success in Trinidad and Tobago

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, The Fête de la Musique 2026 celebration was a resounding success, drawing over 450 attendees to Sound Forge for a vibrant evening of live music, culture, and community.

The event, held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, was organized by the Embassy of France in Trinidad and Tobago, the Alliance Française of Trinidad and Tobago, and the Port of Spain City Corporation. It coincided with two major milestones: the 75th anniversary of the Alliance Française of Trinidad and Tobago and the 112th anniversary of the City of Port of Spain.

Guillaume Pierre, Ambassador of France to Trinidad and Tobago, Alderman Chinua Alleyne, Mayor of Port of Spain, and Anyka Batista, director of the Alliance Française of Trinidad and Tobago, opened the evening. They emphasized music's power to unite diverse people across cultures and generations.

The stage featured 12 groups and 75 artists, showcasing the rich musical diversity of Trinidad and Tobago. Performers presented a wide array of genres, including soca, classical, creole, patois, indie, folk, pop, rock, dance, chutney, pan, violin, and DJ sets, alongside French, international, and local hits. The celebration was also streamed live on YouTube for those unable to attend in person, transforming the venue into a dancefloor as the night progressed.
