Fewer queues at passenger border terminals, but outbound trucks wait up to four hours

Passenger traffic at Serbia’s border terminals has eased, but truck drivers leaving the country still face lengthy waits.

According to Serbian Roads, cars entering Serbia are waiting around 30 minutes at Gradina on the Bulgarian border and Preševo on the North Macedonian border. The wait at Gostun, which connects with Montenegro, is about 10 minutes.

Border police data recorded at 5 p.m. showed outbound trucks waiting four hours at Batrovci toward Croatia and three hours at Sremska Rača toward Bosnia and Herzegovina. No longer delays were reported at the other border crossings or at motorway toll plazas.

Authorities said roadworks were not causing diversions on major first- and second-category routes. In a few sections, only the emergency lanes were closed or traffic was being released alternately.
