FexpoYapacaní opens expecting 20,000 visitors and strong economic boost

The XII FexpoYapacaní fair has officially opened its doors, with organizers anticipating a turnout of more than 20,000 visitors over its three-day run. This significant event serves as a crucial platform for producers, companies, and livestock farmers from the Ichilo province.

Officially inaugurated on Friday evening, the fair is organized by the local dairy sector. It provides a vital space for promotion and commercialization, connecting businesses and small-scale producers from the four municipalities within the Ichilo province. Elizabeth Alba, the organization's president, highlighted that the event offers producers a valuable opportunity to showcase and sell their goods.

Beyond its commercial aspects, FexpoYapacaní features traditional attractions like a milking competition and a livestock auction. The latter alone is expected to generate over one million bolivianos, a figure considered by dairy producers to be instrumental in improving their herds' genetic quality.

The fair's impact extends to the local economy, stimulating activity for transporters, merchants, businesses, producers, and workers throughout its duration. Mayor Juan Ramos emphasized the fair's importance, stating, "We support the realization of this fair because it means work for the entire municipality, from transporters and companies hiring labor to people selling snacks." He added that his administration aims to promote the industrialization of local producers.

The opening ceremony was attended by municipal authorities from San Carlos and Fernández Alonso, national deputies, and representatives from Fedeple, underscoring the event's regional significance.
