FG, EGO Foundation, Access Corporation Equip Artisans to Boost Entrepreneurship

The Nigerian Federal Government, in partnership with the EGO Foundation and supported by Access Corporation, has trained over 120 artisans in high-demand vocational skills. This initiative aims to bolster business growth and self-employment, strengthening the government's drive to promote vocational education and economic empowerment.

The program offered intensive, hands-on training in various trades, including garment making, fashion design, beauty and cosmetology, solar installation and maintenance, hospitality management, catering, food services, and entrepreneurship development. The goal was to enhance the technical and entrepreneurial capacities of both artisans and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Beyond skills acquisition, participants received crucial entrepreneurial and business management support. Access Corporation provided essential work tools and starter kits, enabling beneficiaries to immediately apply their new skills, expand their businesses, and generate sustainable income. Toluwase Olaniyan, Executive Director of EGO Foundation, praised the collaboration, highlighting it as a powerful example of how government, the private sector, and development partners can unite to combat unemployment and poverty through skills development.
