FG, govs laud Olanipekun over Ekiti maternity complex donation

The Federal Government and Ekiti State officials lauded Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) for his significant philanthropic contributions, particularly the donation of a state-of-the-art maternity complex to the State Specialist Hospital in Ikere-Ekiti. The NewCruse Mother and Child Maternity Complex, built and donated by Olanipekun, was inaugurated on Tuesday.

This complex will expand access, improve outcomes, reduce avoidable deaths and provide a more dignified environment for patients and staff.

Dr. Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, represented by Prof. Kolawole Ogundipe, commended Olanipekun's sustained investments in education, healthcare, and community development. Pate stated that the new facility, featuring 35 beds, would be instrumental in reducing maternal and child mortality rates within Ekiti State. He urged other affluent Nigerians and organizations to follow Olanipekun's example in contributing to national development.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and elder statesman Chief Bisi Akande. They all paid tribute to Olanipekun's extensive philanthropy.

This project aligns with the Federal Government’s push to strengthen maternal and child healthcare and expand access to quality services nationwide.

Governor Oyebanji described the project as a remarkable contribution to healthcare and humanity, reflecting Olanipekun's deep commitment to his roots and the well-being of the people. Governor Aiyedatiwa also praised the initiative as an act of significant service.

The maternity complex is equipped with modern amenities, including general and private wards, consulting rooms, ultrasound facilities, two theatre suites, labor rooms, a neonatal intensive care unit, and staff offices. This comprehensive facility is expected to greatly enhance maternal and child healthcare delivery in the region.
