Fiat's Popular Electric Microcar Topolino Expands to U.S. Market

Fiat is expanding the reach of its popular Topolino electric microcar by officially entering the U.S. market. The charming Italian vehicle will be offered in two distinct versions: a traditional two-door model and the "Dolcevita" variant, which features an open-air cabin with rope doors and a canvas roof, evoking a nostalgic feel.

Both versions are designed for urban mobility, boasting a compact size of just 2,350 mm in length, reminiscent of a mini Fiat 500. Standard features include retro-inspired chrome accents, a luggage rack, and 14-inch alloy wheels. The interior maintains a minimalist design with a digital instrument cluster, storage compartments, and a smartphone holder.

Under the hood, the Topolino is powered by a 6kW (8 horsepower) electric motor and a 5.4 kWh battery. It has a top speed of 40 km/h and a maximum range of 75 kilometers, making it ideal for city driving. Charging is convenient, with a full charge achievable in 5 hours using a 2.3 kW AC charger. Fiat also offers customization options through a partnership with Motori & Customs, allowing for personalized builds from mild modifications to unique creations.

The Topolino enters the U.S. market with a price tag of $13,995, approximately 450,000 New Taiwan Dollars, positioning it as an affordable option for city dwellers.
