Fico to take over Saková's agenda, seeks separate firm to value ČEZ stake

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has asserted his intention to assume the responsibilities previously held by Denisa Saková, who was dismissed as the Minister of Economy. Fico indicated that he would be taking over Saková's agenda, signaling a consolidation of power within the government.

Despite taking over the ministry's portfolio, Fico has expressed a desire for an independent assessment of the valuation for the stake owned by the Czech energy group ČEZ. He wants a separate company, distinct from those directly involved, to evaluate the price. This move suggests a cautious approach to the significant transaction involving ČEZ's assets in Slovakia.

To ensure a thorough and impartial evaluation, representatives from JAVYS, the Slovak Nuclear and Decommissioning Company, and ČEZ itself will participate in the process of selecting the company tasked with assessing the stake's price. This collaborative selection process aims to lend credibility to the valuation and subsequent negotiations.
