FIFA, AFC seek details on Korea Football Association's innovation committee

Global football governing bodies FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have formally requested detailed information from the Korea Football Association (KFA) concerning its newly established K-Football Innovation Committee. The KFA confirmed on April 24 that it received an official document from FIFA and AFC titled 'Situation of the Korean Football Association'.

The inquiry seeks to understand the current state of the KFA, including the activities and outcomes of the K-Football Innovation Committee. The KFA stated it will provide information based on facts, including the content of meetings held since the World Cup and the committee's overall status.

The document includes a request for information sharing on the current situation of the Korea Football Association, including the activities of the K-Innovation Committee.

The K-Football Innovation Committee was launched on March 6, spearheaded by the government. Its mandate is to comprehensively discuss key tasks aimed at enhancing the future competitiveness of Korean football. These areas include K-football governance, youth player development, and the adoption of advanced technological systems. The committee's launch was announced by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Yoon-young and former national team captain Park Ji-sung, who serve as co-chairs.
