Fijian Drua sign former Wallaby forward Isi Naisarani

Isi Naisarani is coming home. The Fiji-born former Wallabies forward has joined the Fijian Drua ahead of the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season, returning to the island after leaving as a young player to pursue opportunities abroad.

The Drua described the signing as a “significant homecoming” for the powerful No. 8. Naisarani built an impressive Australian career with the Western Force, ACT Brumbies and Melbourne Rebels before continuing his rugby in Japan. The club said his return would give him the chance to play in front of family and friends while bringing substantial Super Rugby and international experience to the Fiji-based franchise.

A dynamic powerful & skilful player he will add a huge amount to our game in attack & in defence.

Drua head coach Brad Mooar called the move a “very exciting signing for us.” He said Naisarani’s power, dynamism and skill would strengthen the team in attack and defence. Mooar added that watching Naisarani in the Shute Shield and speaking with him showed the player was enjoying both his rugby and his life.

Naisarani ended the 2026 season strongly. The club said he earned a place in the Code Sports Shute Shield Team of the Year at No. 8 and finished second in voting for the Ken Catchpole Medal, with 20 points, two behind the winner.
