Film 'Sacré Coeur' explores transformative power of devotion to Jesus's heart

The film "Sacré Coeur" delves into the profound devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, weaving together four distinct narrative threads to explore its impact on faith and life. This French film, rooted in a "very French" tradition, centers on a vibrant religious cult and its spiritual significance.

At the heart of the film is the story of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647–1690), a Visitation nun who entered her order in 1671. She received visions from Jesus, who chose her as a messenger of his love, desiring the salvation of all people. Her first significant vision occurred on December 27, 1673, during Eucharistic adoration, where Jesus revealed his "burning love" for humanity and his desire for it to flow through her.
