Fiorentina signs Bournemouth's Jimenez on loan

Italian club Fiorentina has secured the signing of 21-year-old Spanish right-back Alex Jimenez from Bournemouth. The Serie A side announced on Thursday that Jimenez will join on a season-long loan deal, which includes an option for Fiorentina to make the transfer permanent.

Jimenez featured in 32 matches across all competitions for Bournemouth during the past season. However, his time at the Premier League club ended abruptly in May when he was removed from the squad. Bournemouth initiated an investigation into social media posts linked to the player, and neither the club nor Jimenez's representatives provided further details at the time.

While Fiorentina has not disclosed the financial specifics of the agreement, reports from Italian and British media suggest the option to purchase the player is valued at approximately 20 million euros ($22.88 million). Jimenez, a product of Real Madrid's youth academy, initially joined Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan in February before making the move permanent. He became a regular starter for Bournemouth, appearing in 31 Premier League games and scoring one goal.
