Fire at Sanchong Public Market Quickly Extinguished, No Injuries Reported

Firefighters in New Taipei City swiftly contained a blaze that erupted at a public market in Sanchong District late Tuesday night. The fire originated on the first floor of the market located at 70 Chongan Street, sending smoke billowing and causing initial alarm due to the supermarket operating on the second floor. The New Taipei City Fire Department dispatched a significant response, deploying 25 fire trucks and 61 personnel to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters immediately established water lines and began dousing the flames while simultaneously conducting search and rescue operations and evacuating the area. The fire was brought under control and successfully extinguished shortly thereafter. Preliminary investigations indicate the fire affected approximately 10 square meters of market stalls on the first floor of the three-story building. Fortunately, the timely discovery and response prevented any injuries or entrapment. The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation by fire marshals.
