Fire damages Chinese commercial property in downtown Santiago

A fire erupted in downtown Santiago, causing substantial damage to a Chinese commercial establishment within a strip center. The incident occurred at the intersection of Santa Rosa and Santa Isabel avenues, drawing a significant response from the city's fire department.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and worked diligently to contain the flames. Their efforts were primarily focused on preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent commercial units and a nearby residential complex, successfully averting a larger catastrophe.

Commander Giorgio Tromben of the Santiago Fire Department confirmed that the fire affected a business known as Home Store, which housed warehouses filled with various flammable materials. He stated that the fire department's main objective was containment and preventing propagation. Fortunately, the operation resulted in no civilian or firefighter injuries, and the blaze was brought under control.
