Fire erupts at Iran refinery in Lorestan province

A significant fire broke out Friday evening at the Oxin Palayesh mini-refinery in Iran's western Lorestan province, according to semi-official media reports.

The blaze began shortly after 5 p.m. local time, sending a plume of thick smoke over the town of Poldokhtar. Firefighters, rescue teams, and specialized equipment were dispatched to the scene. However, the extensive nature of the fire and the presence of flammable substances complicated containment efforts, preventing crews from reaching the fire's core in the initial hours.
