Fire guts residential building in Kwara

A fire outbreak on Sunday morning significantly damaged a residential building in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. The blaze affected a store and a room within a five-bedroom bungalow located at No. 5 Obafemi Akere Street, off Basin Road.

On Sunday, 7 June 2026, at 07:10hrs, the Kwara State Fire Service responded to a fire outbreak at No. 5 Obafemi Akere Street, off Basin Road, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Kwara State Fire Service received an emergency call at approximately 7:10 am and responded swiftly. Firefighters battled the flames, successfully preventing them from engulfing the entire structure. The prompt and professional intervention by the fire service significantly reduced the magnitude of the damage.
