Firearm, ammunition found in suspicious parcel at Mahakanadarawa reservoir embankment

Police found a T-56 rifle, four magazines and 25 rounds inside a suspicious parcel at the Mahakanadarawa reservoir embankment in Mihintale.

Mihintale police went to the site after receiving information that a suspicious parcel had been left on the embankment. Officers inspected it and discovered the firearm and ammunition inside.

Police are continuing to investigate who brought the weapon to the location and abandoned it there.
