Firefighters Control Structural Fire in Northern Quito

Firefighters in Quito successfully controlled a structural fire that erupted in a residential building in the city's northern sector on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. in the Colinas del Norte and Rancho Bajo area, prompting a swift response from emergency units.

Alerts from the community guided the coordinated efforts of the Integrated Security Service ECU 911, which dispatched resources to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames concentrated in a closed storage space on the upper floor of the building. They immediately began containment operations to prevent the fire from spreading to lower levels or adjacent properties.

An assessment confirmed the fire was confined to a storage area on the building's top terrace. After intense work, fire crews fully controlled the blaze. Following extinguishment, rescue personnel conducted cooling and ventilation procedures to clear smoke and ensure the structure's safety. Authorities confirmed that no individuals were injured or killed in the incident.
