First Lady Showcases Nigeria’s Tourism Potential to Qatari Government

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has emphasized the untapped potential of the nation's tourism sector, urging Nigerians, especially the youth, to explore the country's rich cultural heritage and diverse landscapes. During a meeting with the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Nigeria, Yousef Bin Al-Halil, at the State House in Abuja, Mrs. Tinubu described tourism as a strong point for Nigeria, capable of generating revenue and providing employment.

Mrs. Tinubu acknowledged the nation's challenges but expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu's efforts, asserting that "the nation will be great again."

Ambassador Al-Halil shared his personal experience, noting that his initial fears about Nigeria, fueled by social media misinformation, were unfounded. "Nigeria is not what we hear and see on the social media. It is a beautiful country with wonderful people. I have been to Lagos, I have seen the beaches, it is a beautiful place," he remarked. He pledged to work towards building stronger bridges between Qatar and Nigeria for mutual benefit.

The First Lady also expressed gratitude for the partnership with the Qatari government and acknowledged the positive feedback from the Federal Ministry of Education regarding efforts to address the issue of out-of-school children. She specifically thanked Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, for her contributions to African nations.
