First Lady Tinubu Inaugurates ICT Center, Roads in Benue

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has inaugurated key development projects in Benue State, Nigeria, underscoring the federal government's "Renewed Hope Agenda." The initiatives include the newly established RHI/NITDA Community ICT Training Centre in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area, designed to expand grassroots digital literacy. This center is a product of a partnership between the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the First Lady's Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

I am, indeed, delighted to be in the venue today to officially commission the National Information Technology Development Agency ICT centre and selected intra-city road projects in Makurdi Metropolis embarked upon by the Governor Hyacinth Alia administration.

During her visit, Mrs. Tinubu also commissioned 10 intra-city road projects in Makurdi Metropolis, undertaken by the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia. These roads, totaling 11.5 kilometers, are presented as vital pathways for economic growth, enhanced mobility, improved security, and a better quality of life for Makurdi residents. The First Lady commended Governor Alia for his leadership and commitment to delivering democratic dividends, stating that the projects exemplify the practical implementation of the President's agenda.

These roads with a combined length of 11.5 kilometres, including the Ishaya Bakut Road dual carriageway, Abu King Shuluwa Road, Mama Mbateren Alia streets, Dabo plaza to fashion hub road, Sir James Iorpuu street, Tega Bar Street, Jato Aka road, and the connecting spur roads, are pathways to economic growth, improved mobility, enhanced security, and a better quality of life for the people of Makurdi and beyond.

Governor Alia, in his address, emphasized his administration's dedication to progress and purposeful leadership. He highlighted the completion of the roads as a testament to their collective determination to build a better Benue. "I've opened up previously inaccessible areas, reduced travel time, enhanced connectivity between different communities in the city of Makurdi, and improved the aesthetic outlook of our capital city," Alia stated. He also noted that the projects have created employment opportunities and will continue to stimulate economic activities, reinforcing the administration's focus on tangible development and citizen welfare.
