First look: Big Brother Naija Season 11 house revealed with 59 microphones and 19 speakers

Months of meticulous planning, engineering, and construction have culminated in the creation of the purpose-built set for Big Brother Naija Season 11, themed ‘Everything Is For The Taking.’ The highly anticipated season is set to premiere soon, marking the return of one of Africa's biggest reality television productions.

Preparations for the 2026 edition began in November 2025, nearly nine months before the premiere. This extensive process involved concept development, design, procurement, sourcing, and planning before construction teams transformed the space into a fully functional television set. The physical transformation of the bare structure into a camera-ready house takes approximately two months.

The completed house, built adjacent to the live television studio in Lagos, is equipped with 52 robotic pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, 7 handheld cameras, 59 microphones, 36 antenna blades, and 19 speakers. This advanced setup allows production teams to capture activity around the clock, ensuring continuous live production throughout the season for more than 20 housemates.

MultiChoice emphasizes that the Big Brother Naija house is redesigned annually to enhance both the viewing experience and the production process. Significant changes, such as moving the main staircase to the center of the living room and relocating bedrooms upstairs in 2024, have altered how housemates navigate the space and how they are captured on camera. These redesigns are driven by production needs, including camera coverage, sightlines, and the natural movement and interaction of housemates.

Beyond its entertainment value, the annual construction of the BBNaija house serves as a significant economic driver, supporting over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs across Nigeria. Every stage, from civil engineering and electrical installations to interior decoration, is executed by Nigerian professionals, including carpenters, electricians, decorators, and other skilled artisans. This local expertise extends to the production crews, camera operators, and technical support staff who keep the show running, showcasing a large-scale production ecosystem powered by local talent.
