First Woman Elected to Lead Chinese Taipei Baseball Association

The Chinese Taipei Baseball Association (CTBA) has elected Chou Ling-wen as its new chairperson, making her the first woman to hold the top leadership position in the organization's history. The election concluded yesterday, marking a significant moment for Taiwanese baseball governance.

Su Tai-an, the well-respected manager of the Uni-President Lions and a standing director for the third consecutive term, attended the election meeting. Speaking about Chou, Su expressed his confidence, stating that her energy and passion make her the ideal candidate. He believes her leadership will be a positive force for the CTBA.

Su also took a moment to thank the outgoing chairperson, C.K. Wu, for his eight years of service. He particularly highlighted the success of the Taiwanese team in winning the Premier12 championship in 2024, attributing it to the unified efforts of the CTBA, the professional baseball league, the government, players, and coaches. This victory was a significant achievement for Taiwanese baseball.

Chou, 58, has a long history of involvement in grassroots baseball development. Su indicated that she plans to uphold the systems and goals established during Wu's tenure. Working alongside the newly elected directors and supervisors, as well as senior figures in the baseball community, Chou aims to continue contributing to the advancement of baseball in Taiwan.
