FISIP Unas Denies Having a Student Executive Board, Refutes Claims by 'BEM Bersatu' Member

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Nasional (Unas) has issued a firm denial regarding the existence of a student executive board (BEM) within its faculty structure. This clarification was prompted by an individual who presented themselves as the Chairman of FISIP Unas's BEM during a press conference held by the "BEM Bersatu" alliance.

Dekan FISIP Universitas Nasional, Aos Yuli Firdaus, stated in a written release that there is no BEM organization at the faculty level. Consequently, the position of FISIP Unas BEM Chairman does not exist within the faculty's official student organizational framework. Firdaus asserted that the individual in question lacks the institutional capacity to represent FISIP Unas and that their statements are purely personal and do not reflect the faculty's official views.

While respecting students' rights to express opinions and participate in democracy, FISIP Unas stressed the importance of accurate and responsible use of organizational identities. The faculty warned against misrepresentation that could lead to public misunderstanding. The "BEM Bersatu" alliance, meanwhile, has voiced opposition to student movements being influenced by practical political interests, advocating for student movements to remain the voice of the people rather than tools for power struggles.
