Five days at the seaside in peak season: How much it costs as all-inclusive hotels remain popular with Romanians

Prices on the Romanian Black Sea coast are holding steady for the first half of August, the period typically considered the peak season. Hoteliers have set their rates, showing minimal increases compared to late July, indicating that prices have reached a ceiling due to the financial efforts required by Romanians for even short vacations.

Some hotels are offering discounts of up to 30% on standard rates for periods with lower occupancy. Conversely, price hikes are generally kept below 10%. The first half of August remains the most sought-after time for seaside holidays in Romania, partly due to various events and the Orthodox celebration of Navy Day on August 15th.

According to data from Bibi Touroperator, a five-night stay for two people during this peak period can start from less than 1,000 lei (approximately $215 USD) for basic accommodations without meals. At the higher end, ultra all-inclusive packages in premium hotels can reach nearly 8,800 lei (approximately $1,890 USD).

Adrian Voican, vice-president of the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT), noted that prices are stable, and even during peak season, last-minute offers, free vacation days, or child discounts are available. These promotions can significantly reduce costs, making holidays accessible. He advises tourists to consult travel agencies for the best options and personalized guidance.
