Five killed in Russian attack on Ukraine's Kharkiv region; drone strikes hit Russia

A Russian artillery attack on the village of Bugaivka in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region killed five people on August 10, the regional prosecutor's office reported. The attack destroyed several homes in the residential area.

In a separate incident, Russian forces launched five airstrikes on the Sumy region, injuring 14 people. Local authorities stated that most of the injuries were minor, with some individuals experiencing acute stress reactions. No serious injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone attacks targeted the Tatarstan region in central Russia. According to regional news agencies, these attacks resulted in at least 12 deaths and 39 injuries in the city of Nizhnekamsk. Russian authorities claimed their air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 456 Ukrainian drones overnight, targeting approximately 15 Russian regions and annexed Crimea. The Ministry of Defense of Russia stated these attacks impacted both industrial and civilian sites, leading to fatalities.
