A popular fizzy drink brand sold in major UK supermarkets is recalling cans of its pineapple soda over fears they could rupture unexpectedly, posing a significant risk of injury. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued the recall for Dalston Soda Company's pineapple soda, warning that the cans may break apart, leaving sharp edges. The company attributes the issue to a "packaging defect." Customers who purchased the affected cans are strongly advised not to consume the product. Instead, they should handle the cans as little as possible, place them upright in a sealed bag, and dispose of them with household waste. The company urges customers not to return the cans to stores but to contact Dalston Soda Company directly for a full refund, even without a receipt. The recall affects single cans with batch code 037130 and four-can multipacks with batch code 037129, both with a best-before date of August 4, 2027. No other Dalston's products are impacted by this recall. The soda brand has a unique origin, founded by chefs in the now-closed Passing Clouds nightclub in London's Dalston neighborhood.
