Flights between Tehran and Dubai to resume Monday, Iranian press reports

Flights connecting Tehran and Dubai will resume on Monday, Iranian state media reported Sunday. This marks a significant step in restoring air travel between the two cities, which had been disrupted in recent weeks.

The resumption follows a period of heightened tension in the Middle East, during which Iran launched drone and missile attacks on targets within the United Arab Emirates. These actions had led to the suspension of flights on this crucial route.

According to Ramin Kashefazar, director of Tehran's Imán Jomeini Airport, necessary arrangements have been made to reopen the Tehran-Dubai route. Tickets for a Monday flight operated by Iranian airline Sepehran were already available for purchase online.

Dubai's airport itself has experienced disruptions due to drone attacks during the recent conflict, leading to temporary flight suspensions. While Iran stated its attacks targeted U.S. interests and not civilian infrastructure, the conflict has impacted regional travel. Dubai's airport, once the world's busiest for international passengers, saw a 66% drop in travelers year-on-year due to the conflict. A ceasefire has been in place since April, though exchanges of fire continue.
