Flood-displaced families shelter in forest tents in Nuwakot’s Betrawati

Flood-displaced residents from Betrawati in Nuwakot are taking shelter in tents in Swaradanda forest, about one kilometre uphill from the settlement.

Nineteen tents have been placed in a row, but residents say they will not be enough as more displaced families return. Local resident Milan Shrestha said around 80 people are staying at the site.
