Argentine television host Florencia Peña has been removed from her program "El show del verano" on Luzu TV after spreading a false news report about Lionel Messi's father. The incident occurred live on air, causing significant backlash and prompting an internal investigation by the streaming channel.

Peña stated she was mortified by the event, explaining that she was fed the information through her earpiece by production staff and repeated it without immediate verification. She expressed shock, noting it was the first time such a situation had happened to her. A producer later confirmed on air that the information was unverified, and the channel issued a joint apology.

Nicolás Occhiato, founder and general producer of Luzu TV, publicly condemned the incident, calling it "inadmissible" and stating it did not represent his work or the channel's values. He announced a thorough internal review and "forceful sanctions" for the error. Consequently, all responsible parties were dismissed, and Peña's departure from the program was confirmed.
