Florida couple preserved a 1908 house for 41 years. It is now a local historic landmark

For more than four decades, Margi and Pat Nanney worked to preserve the Johnson Helm House in Oneco, Florida. Their efforts have now helped secure the home’s designation as the county’s first local historic landmark.

Built in 1908, the residence retains its distinctive architectural features. The Nanneys’ careful stewardship prevented modern alterations from obscuring the house’s original character.

The recognition also highlights the agricultural history of the surrounding area.
