Florin Tănase has left Romania for Cyprus after reaching an agreement with Omonia Nicosia, where he is scheduled to undergo a medical examination. If the tests go as planned, the former FCSB captain will be officially presented and begin training with the Cypriot first-division club.

Tănase traveled to Larnaca with his wife and agent, Florin Vulturar. Omonia’s offer arrived late last week and the midfielder accepted it. Although he had extended his agreement with FCSB this summer, the contract allowed him to leave if he received a more financially attractive proposal. The move took place without a transfer fee.

Tănase said he was excited to join a club with a long history that plays in European competitions. He declined to discuss all the events of recent days immediately, but said he would address them in the near future. He also said he did not regret rejecting a move to China, explaining that he had preferred to stay home before choosing this new opportunity.
