Foreign IT experts without formal education will be able to work in Croatia

Croatia is opening its doors to skilled IT professionals who may not possess traditional formal education, aiming to address a growing demand for tech talent. Under new regulations, employers can now hire individuals with high levels of knowledge, skills, and competencies, even if they lack a university degree or equivalent certification.

To ensure fair compensation and attract top-tier talent, employers are mandated to provide these foreign specialists with a gross monthly salary of at least 3,024 euros. This salary threshold is set significantly above the average wage, reflecting the specialized nature of IT work and the need to offer competitive compensation packages.

The move is expected to boost Croatia's burgeoning tech sector by providing companies with access to a wider pool of qualified candidates. It signifies a pragmatic approach to workforce development, prioritizing demonstrable skills and experience over formal academic qualifications in a rapidly evolving industry.
