Foreign national arrested in Mérida for attempted femicide

Authorities in Mérida, Yucatán, have arrested a foreign national, identified as Ibrahim A.H., in connection with an attempted femicide case. The incident left a woman, Annalie C.R., injured by a firearm.

Paramedics provided immediate assistance to the victim following the attack. She was rushed to a local hospital, where she remains under medical care. Preliminary investigations were initiated after residents in the Las Américas neighborhood reported the incident.

Agents from the State Investigation Police (PEI) focused their investigation on the victim's ex-partner. They located the suspect in a property within the same neighborhood. According to reports, Ibrahim A.H. attempted to evade the police intervention and sustained injuries from a fall, requiring hospitalization.

The suspect is currently under police custody and awaiting a hearing before a Control Court. The case is being investigated under the attempted femicide protocol.
