Foreign national charged in Da Nang cafe vandalism causing over $15,000 in damages

Authorities in Da Nang, Vietnam, have charged a foreign national with public disorder following a destructive spree at a cafe. L.S.G., a 35-year-old foreigner, is accused of causing chaos in the early hours of May 30 at a cafe on Le Hong Phong street.

According to initial investigations, L.S.G. allegedly engaged in violent behavior after a minor dispute with a customer. He is reported to have smashed a phone, then used a wooden chair to destroy numerous assets within the cafe. The suspect also reportedly shouted and overturned furniture near the bar area and other parts of the establishment, causing panic among customers and staff.

The incident escalated as L.S.G. allegedly proceeded to the mezzanine floor, kicking down doors, damaging property, and confronting a young man. The disturbance only ceased when law enforcement arrived.

The damage caused by the incident is estimated to be nearly 383 million Vietnamese dong (approximately $15,000 USD). This includes the destruction of multiple mobile phones, laptops, tablets, and other customer property. The event also caused a significant public disturbance, drawing a crowd of onlookers.

During the investigation, police collected camera footage documenting the entire incident. L.S.G. has reportedly shown signs of resistance and uncooperativeness with authorities. Officials are continuing to assess the full extent of the damages to determine L.S.G.'s responsibility for the property destruction.
