Foreign Nationals Arrested for Apartment Robberies in Buenos Aires; One Had International Warrant

A swift response from a vigilant neighbor led to the capture of three foreign nationals suspected of robbing apartments in the Belgrano neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The neighbor alerted authorities via the 911 emergency number after observing suspicious individuals roaming the building's hallways while he was away from his apartment.

Police officers from Comisaría Vecinal 13C intercepted a man and a woman attempting to leave the building on Roosevelt Avenue. A third suspect fled to the upper floors, leading officers on a chase. The man attempted to evade capture by jumping to the seventh floor from the eighth, sustaining injuries before being apprehended.

The investigation gained significant traction when fingerprint analysis revealed one of the detainees, a 38-year-old Colombian man, was using a false identity. He had an international arrest warrant against him and a criminal history in Argentina for theft, as well as documented involvement in criminal organizations, software manipulation, and cell phone theft in Colombia.

Another Colombian man, 59, also part of the group, had a lengthy criminal record including 10 prior offenses for simple and aggravated theft, and a previous prison sentence. The third suspect, a Venezuelan woman, also had a judicial history, including charges for concealment, theft, and robbery. She had recently been placed on probation and her residency in Argentina was declared irregular, with an expulsion order pending.

Investigators found that several apartments on the third floor had been forcibly entered. The building's main entrance showed no signs of damage, prompting further inquiry into how the suspects gained access.
