Foreign teenager arrested in South Korea after allegedly stabbing parents; father dies

A foreign teenager has been arrested in Cheonan, South Korea, on suspicion of fatally stabbing his parents during a domestic dispute. The 19-year-old, identified only as "A," is being investigated by the Cheonan Dongnam Police for charges including patricide.

The incident occurred early Tuesday morning at an apartment in Mokcheon-eup. Police responded to a report of a stabbing involving the parents, both in their 40s. The father succumbed to his injuries during surgery, while the mother, who also underwent surgery, remains in critical condition.

According to reports, the teenager surrendered to authorities shortly after the incident and was apprehended by responding officers. During initial questioning, "A" allegedly stated that he stabbed his parents while trying to break up an argument they were having over business matters.

Police have applied for an arrest warrant for "A" and are continuing to investigate the precise motive behind the attack, interviewing the victim's other son, who witnessed the event.
