Forest City welcomes government probe into Network School, vows full cooperation

Forest City has welcomed a Malaysian government investigation into Network School, asserting its full cooperation with authorities. The master developer stated it operates strictly within Malaysian laws and policies, emphasizing that no tenant or operator is exempt from legal compliance. The company highlighted its role in supporting the development of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and Forest City Special Financial Zone, attracting high-value investments and digital innovation.

Network School is noted as one of the organizations drawn to Forest City's investment ecosystem. However, Forest City stressed that, like all entities within its development, Network School is subject to Malaysian laws, licensing, and regulatory oversight. The developer clarified that it does not grant regulatory exemptions and does not act as a regulator or enforcement agency.

Reiterating a zero-tolerance policy for legal, licensing, or immigration breaches, Forest City stated it would pursue its full legal and contractual rights if any violations are confirmed. The company expressed confidence that the investigation's outcome would bolster public and investor confidence in the Forest City Special Financial Zone. It anticipates collaborating with the government and industry partners to attract more IT and AI companies, thereby contributing to Johor and Malaysia's economic growth. The investigation was prompted by allegations that Israeli nationals were among Network School's participants, though subsequent immigration checks found no evidence of Israeli passport holders on the premises.
