Having grown up in the region and known the forest well, Krischer found the devastation deeply distressing. Reflecting on the event, Krischer stated that the extreme weather conditions are a clear manifestation of climate change's impact. "The consequences of climate change are hitting us with full force here," he asserted. He emphasized the dual necessity of maintaining robust climate protection measures and preparing society to adapt to increasingly severe weather patterns. The minister acknowledged the state government's investments in firefighting capabilities but warned that the situation remains dynamic, with the summer posing further challenges.
